GigoStream Setup Guide for IBO Player
IBO Player is the only application GigoStream supports, and it runs on practically every platform — Android, Windows, macOS, Fire TV Stick and non-Android smart TVs from LG and Samsung. This guide covers installation on each one, then the playlist registration step that makes your channels appear.
Before you begin
Three things need to be true before installation is worth starting. First, you need an active GigoStream subscription — if you have not ordered yet, the plans page lists every term. Second, you need your credentials email, which arrives within ten minutes of payment. Third, you need a connection that can carry the bitrate you want: roughly 25 Mbps for 4K, 12 Mbps for HD, and 6 Mbps for SD.
A note on what IBO Player is: it is built by a development group called IBODEV, distributed directly from their own website for every platform, and it uses remote playlist activation. That means you never type a long M3U string into a TV remote — you add the playlist once on the IBO website and it appears on the device. It is a small paid license rather than a subscription, and it is the only player our support desk troubleshoots.
One device per subscription. A GigoStream account authorizes a single device at a time. Install IBO Player on whichever screen you watch most; if you later switch hardware, contact support and we will move the authorization across rather than you needing a second plan.
Amazon Fire TV Stick
The Fire Stick is the most common GigoStream device in American homes. Because IBO Player is not in Amazon's own store, you install a sideloading helper first.
- Open search
From the Fire TV dashboard, move to the magnifier icon, press down to reach the search field, and press OK.
- Find the Downloader app
Type the letter D on the on-screen keyboard. "Downloader" should be the first suggestion — highlight it and press OK.
- Install Downloader
Select the app to begin installation, then choose Download. When prompted to grant media access, choose Allow.
- Enter the IBO Player code
Open Downloader, move to the field above the yellow Go button, press OK, and type the official IBO Player Android code: 511693. Select Go.
- Let the download finish
Downloader switches to its Browser section and pulls the file from the official IBO site. Do not press anything until it completes.
- Allow installs from unknown sources
Fire OS will block the install. Choose Settings, then Install Unknown Apps, find Downloader and switch it from OFF to ON. If Developer Options is not visible, open About and press OK seven times on the remote to reveal it.
- Complete the installation
Return to the install prompt and confirm with Next and Install. Accept the first-launch message with OK, and IBO Player is ready.
Android phones, tablets and TV boxes
Android is the simplest platform because you have a full browser to work with.
- Download the APK
Open the IBO Player official website in your browser and download the Android installation file.
- Accept the browser warning
Android will warn you that the file comes from outside the Play Store. Choose Download Anyway.
- Open and install
Tap the downloaded file, then tap Install. Grant the install permission if your Android version asks for it.
- Launch the app
Open IBO Player. An introductory screen explains what happens next — read it and tap OK.
- Note your Device Info
The app loads to its dashboard. Keep it open; you will need the MAC address and Device Key in the playlist step below.
Windows 10 and Windows 11
The Windows build is 64-bit and requires Windows 10 or later.
- Download the installer
Get the Windows installer from the IBO Player download page.
- Get past SmartScreen
Windows Security stops installers that did not come from the Microsoft Store. Click More Info, then Run Anyway.
- Run the wizard
Click Next, optionally tick the desktop shortcut box, click Next again, then Install.
- Finish and launch
Click Finish with the launch option ticked to open IBO Player straight away.
macOS — MacBook and iMac
- Download the macOS build
Open the IBO Player website and take the macOS version from the download section.
- Drag into Applications
Open the downloaded file and drag the IBO Player icon into your Applications folder. Installation takes about ten seconds.
- Expect the first launch to be blocked
Because the app was not installed from the App Store, macOS refuses the first launch. This is normal.
- Approve it in System Settings
Click the Apple menu, open System Settings, choose Privacy & Security from the left column, scroll to the security section and click Open Anyway next to IBO Player.
- Confirm
Choose Open Anyway at the confirmation prompt. The approval is permanent — later launches open immediately.
LG and Samsung smart TVs
Non-Android smart TVs are usually the hardest hardware for IPTV, which is exactly why we recommend IBO Player — it has native builds for webOS and Tizen. The steps below use an LG webOS set; Samsung is effectively identical.
- Open the store
Launch the LG Content Store (or the Samsung Apps store on a Tizen set).
- Search
Click the magnifier icon in the top-right corner and type "IBO Player".
- Pick the right app
Several similarly named apps appear. Select the one named exactly "Ibo Player" and ignore the variations.
- Install and launch
Click Install, then Launch. A welcome message appears on first run.
- Move to the playlist step
Leave the app open on the dashboard so you can read its Device Info.
Adding your GigoStream playlist
IBO Player uses remote playlist activation, so this part happens in a browser rather than on the TV.
- Open Manage Playlist
On the IBO Player website, click Manage Playlist in the top menu.
- Find your MAC address and Device Key
On the device, open IBO Player, click the person icon on the dashboard, and read Device Info in the top-left panel.
- Sign in to the portal
Enter that MAC address and Device Key into the portal form and log in.
- Add an M3U playlist
Click Add Playlist. Give it a name such as "GigoStream", paste the Playlist URL from your credentials email, and leave the XMLTV EPG field empty so the app pulls our built-in guide. Tick Protect This Playlist if you want a PIN. Click Save.
- Or add an Xtream Codes playlist
If your email contains a host, username and password instead of a long URL, click Add XC Playlist and fill in the Host field with the server address plus your username and password.
- Restart the app
Close and reopen IBO Player on your device. The GigoStream channel list, EPG and on-demand catalogue load automatically.
Fixing a messy Live TV layout
IBO Player ships with a default Live TV layout that many users find cramped — channel names overflow under the preview window and the program guide sits awkwardly. There is a one-setting fix.
- Open Live Screen Style
From the IBO Player dashboard, click the screen icon next to the Wi-Fi symbol.
- Switch the style
The default is "Malai TV Style". Change it to "Thai" and click Save.
- Enjoy the extra space
Channel names get proper room, the mini preview and EPG fit correctly, and categories hide away. Press the left arrow on the remote to bring the category column back when you need it.
Other settings worth knowing
- Parental Control — PIN-lock adult categories before the kids get the remote
- Manage Categories — hide the country groups you never watch to shorten the sidebar
- Live TV Player / VOD Player — switch decoders if a specific channel stutters
- Clear Cache — the first thing to try if the guide looks stale
- Auto Boot on Start — launch IBO Player automatically when the TV powers on
